Internet/ World Wide Web

The internet is a network that connects devices together, where people can search and share information with others. The creation of the internet in 1980 is credited to two people named Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn. Originally their creation was of Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol. While their was other ideas of the “internet” before, they have made it what it is today with the large network that connects computers.

The World Wide Web is all of the web pages that can be found on the internet. It was invented in 1989 by Sir Tim Berners- Lee because he wanted a way for people to share and access data easily. He created the first web browser and HTMLs, URLs, and HTTPs. These still exist today and are just more updated. Sir Tim Berners- Lee invented a great way for everyone to stay connected and gain access to information.

While the internet and World Wide Web are different, they do work together. The World Wide Web goes on the internet access to retrieve the information. Without the internet, the World Wide Web could not exist. The combination of the two means that websites could exist. The first website was created by Sir Tim Berners- Lee in 1989, when he created the World Wide Web.
